| My observations on inter-marriages among the people included in this database of Royal & Medieval people...
Since I am including here only those who are or are believed to be direct ancestors of my own family,
not including any children that are not direct ancestors, it is clear that many of these families inter-married
at some point. Below are counts of the number of families with multiple children.
So for example, for each of the 2039 families who had 2 children, the descendents of the siblings married each other at some point down the road. Maybe a few generations later, or maybe not until my mother and father. Plus, there are people like Charles Martel (b.688 - d.741), who among his 3 wives, has 10 children listed here, or Richard "The Fearless" of Normandy (b.933 - d.996), who among his 3 wives, has 10 children here.
